What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a unique Hyaluronic acid based product which combines H-HA and L-HA to build and stimulate production of 4 different types of collagen in the skin. As a result the skin will become more hydrated and lifted.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For the best result it is recommended that you have the profhilo injected in certain points of your face over two sessions with 4 week intervals
Will it Hurt?
You should not feel or experience any pain as the skin will be numbed with topical anaesthesia for 20-15 minutes
What Is The Up Keep & Maintenance Of This Treatment?
The result should last for up to 6 months after initial treatment, maintenance sessions will be recommended to you according to your skin type and results.
When Should I Start?
The recommended time to start is after 30 to 45 but this all depends on your skin type, everyone ages differently.
When Can I Get Profhilo?
There are five main areas:
– the tops of cheeks
– sides of the face
– lines around the mouth (marionette lines)
– nasolabial folds
– laughter lines
It can also be used to improve the appearance of the skin around the neck, chest and décolletage.
What Are The Side Effects?
These are one of the safest injections due to them being naturally occurring substances, the only minor side effect is swelling and bruising.
What Must I Avoid Pre & Post Treatment?
No Alcohol consumption 12 hours before and after the treatment
– No Smoking 6 hours before and after
– Other things to avoid are hot showers, saunas as well as exercise for 24 hours and avoid sunbathing or sunbeds for up to 7 days
Are There Are Contra-Indications?
Yes, the absolute contra-indications are pregnancy, breast feeding. Relative contra-indications are the use of blood thinning medications (please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation).
What Is The Difference Between Profhilo & Dermal Filler?
