Got Questions About Filler?

Ahead of booking your MSTR treatment, you may have lots of questions about what to expect, how to prepare & recover, and even understanding the possible complications. We’ve pulled together all the information and common questions about dermal filler treatments below.

What Is Filler?

Filler is made of Hyaluronic Acid which is a water loving molecule that can bind 400x of its weight. This allows the filler to act like a sponge and soak up water upon injection filling out fine lines and wrinkles.

Nasolabial folds (smile lines), Vertical lip lines ( smokers wrinkles), Marionette Lines (Jowls), Lips, Tear Troughs (Eye bags), Cheek, Jawline, Chin and Nose

10 minutes prior to the procedure a numbing cream will be applied to help minimise any discomfort. This will ease the pain of the injection.

There isn’t a certified and official duration for filler as there are many factors that can either increase or decrease the duration of the filler. It can take several sessions to achieve that look you want. It takes time for filler to build up so please be patient.

In most cases filler can be dissolved and reversed by hyaluronidase. This is carried out via small injections to break the product down.

The swelling period should last for up to 14 days, if you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The technician will review your features during your consultation and will use the product most suited to you for the best result and longevity.

We advise all clients to wait a minimum of 48hrs before flying. It is very rare for complications to occur however in theses circumstances you would need to return to the clinic for an emergency reversal protocol.

You can have Russian technique and you may result in a more defined shape however you would not achieve the full flat Russian look as seen our pictures, to achieve this you would need to dissolve all previous filler.

Russian technique is applied more superficially working vertically to increase volume whilst the lip remains flat. Standard lip technique increases plumpness in the lip all round and is not flat from side view.

Dissolving may take more than 1 session – you would be advised of this by your practitioner. After dissolving you must wait a minimum of 10-14 day’s before refilling this is to ensure that there is no dissolver present at the time of refilling and your new product would not be affected. Prior to dissolving you would have a small patch test to insure there is no immediate allergic reaction.

Once the filler settles the appearance would reduce in size and appear more natural so if you wanted it to remain looking more like when you left the clinic then it’s best to build it up over more than one session.

All our practitioners are qualified to advanced level and are health care professionals and no dermal filler treatments should be administered anywhere without having Hyaluronidase (Dissolver) present. This is a group of enzymes that catalyse the degradation of hyaluronic acid (HA)

This can be done on most lips however the outcome would depend on your own lips natural anatomy and if there is filler already present. Your practitioner would advise you what is realistically achievable for you.

Please avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours after you get any dermal fillers. Elevated blood pressure and heart rate from exercise may make swelling or bruising worse. You can take Arnica for bruising. It’s fine to engage in light activity like walking.

Your practitioner will advise you best but you can add more of the same filler product a minimum of 3-4 weeks post your first treatment. If you would like to choose a different brand please allow a minimum of 6 weeks.
